YES! Organic farming promotes ecological balance, conserves biodiversity, and allows plants to thrive in a naturally wild way that is environmentally-friendly. Organic farming methods often involve more labor through soil building, natural fertilizers, crop rotation, careful harvesting, assimilation of the local environment, and composting. The pesticides that are allowed for organic production are typically not man-made or synthetic, but tend to have natural substances like soaps, lime sulfur, and hydrogen peroxide as ingredients. Our herbs are not fumigated nor chemical killing agents used. Our organic hemp is grown 100% pesticide-free.

When organic herbs are not available, we opt for ethically wild-harvested herbs while ensuring the plant populations have only undergone sustainable harvesting. Wildcrafting, or wild harvesting, is the practice of harvesting plants from their natural habitats, while taking care to leave enough of the plant to ensure sustainability and to protect endangered species. The wild, non-cultivated plants are naturally organic and non-GMO, but are not "certified" because they are not under the control of growers but of the wild. Wild harvesters must provide a three-year history of the areas harvested to demonstrate non-interference with wild crops in accordance with The Organic Food Production Act of 1990.

Through a process known as bioaccumulation, all plants absorb nutrients and matter through root uptake. Conventional, non-organic agricultural methods require large amounts of synthetic chemicals and fertilizers, which are directly sprayed on the plants or injected into the ground. This practice is more harmful on the environment by destroying billions of life forms that could be found in a handful of soil, stripping the land of the essential building blocks of life. There is no way to wash away the chemicals that have been absorbed by the plants through bioaccumulation.

YES! Everything is plant-based. No ingredients come from animal sources, and we do not test on animals nor contribute to the testing of animals. All ingredients are organic, earth-derived, and biodegradable and do not present a danger to land, animals, or aquatic organisms when washed off or disposed.

YES! All ingredients are non-GMO (not genetically modified). Most herbs and spices are not in danger of industrial genetic modification, however, we opt for certified organic and wildcrafted herbs that are grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, GMO seed stock, or irradiation. The use of genetic engineering, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs), is prohibited in organic products. All ingredients are organic and wildcrafted, and therefore, are non-GMO.

Genetically modified organisms are plants, animals, or microorganisms whose genetic material has been artificially manipulated through genetic engineering. GMO foods have only existed in groceries since the late 1990s. Genetic engineering is an experimental practice, so the full impact of manipulating DNA and growing these plants is unknown, but the rise of new plants, more resilient pests, and diseases have been reported. Conventional farms not using organic methods may use genetically modified seeds that are engineered to be pest-resistant and easily grown in poor soil. Corn, cattle, and dogs have been selectively bred over generations to have certain traits that are currently desirable.

There is no scientific consensus on GMO safety. Most claims that genetically modified foods are safe were conducted by the biotechnology companies or associates that develop and profit from GMOs, despite explicit conflicts of interest. No epidemiological studies in humans have been carried out to confirm safety associated with GMO food consumption, and claims that genetically modified foods are safe for human health based on the experience in the US population have no scientific basis. Without thorough testing, the long-term safety of genetically modified food is questionable.

As with food safety, there is no scientific consensus regarding the environmental risks associated with GMOs. There have been several international agreements that show a widespread global recognition of risks posed by genetically modified foods and crops, including the Cartagena Protocol, which seeks to protect biological diversity and protect against damage from genetically modified crops and food, and the UN’s Codex Alimentarius, which develops guidelines for the assessment of genetically modified foods and crops. Fair trade requirements and humane animal treatment are also at risk with the use of genetic engineering to crops and animals bred for consumption. There are fears that GMO crops can harm non-target species, such as insects, birds, bats, and animals that forage from these conventional farms. The USA is the largest producer of GMO crops, and as of January 2022, the FDA mandated a GMO labeling policy requiring GMOs be labeled as "bioengineered."

YES! All ingredients are Kosher. All herbs are Kosher and are grown naturally with organic or wild harvested practices and follows the dietary laws of Judaism, being plant-based substances that contain neither dairy nor meat. Our alcohol-based tinctures are made with grain-free potato vodka, vinegar-based tinctures are made with Kosher apple cider vinegar, and oil-based tinctures are made with virgin organic hemp seed oil. Our CBD products, derived from organic hemp, are made with hemp extract that is extracted using clean, supercritical CO2 extraction. This type of extraction method is considered the gold standard in the hemp industry because it produces a superior hemp extract, and is inherently Kosher and the pressurization does not alter its state. Our salves are made with organic plant-based oils and waxes.

YES! We follow the current good manufacturing practices according to Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA) and the Code of Federal Regulations. In the United States, herbs and herbal products are regulated as dietary supplements, which includes, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and amino acids. Herbal products are regulated under the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for dietary supplements by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), in addition to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) having jurisdiction over some areas of the herbal practice.

GMPs address all aspects of the manufacturing process, including: positive identification and assurance of purity, tracking and traceability of herbal products to source ingredients, comprehensive documentation, training of personnel, quality and consistency of herbal preparations, labeling requirements, and proper hygiene for manufacturing process.

YES! Our botanicals are analyzed, measured, and tested for identity, microbial, chemical, and physical contaminants. Ingredients undergo a microbial test for any threatening food borne pathogens to ensure health and safety. The specifications for microbial contaminants found in herbal material adheres to the American Herbal Products Association’s (AHPA) guidelines. For pesticide and herbicide residues, heavy metals, and sulfites, skip lot testing is done of our suppliers. This is based on risk factors such as country of origin, history with vendor, previous test results from vendor, and qualifying a new vendor. Ingredients undergo a heavy metal test. Heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium), while sometimes naturally occurring, can be harmful in significant amounts. Ingredients undergo a sulfite testing. We will not approve or accept any herb that contains detectable levels of sulfites. These tests are done by an independent third-party laboratory.

Compliant with § 581.217, Fla. Stat. (2022), our hemp extract has been tested by an independent third-party laboratory to ensure the total delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol concentration does not exceed 0.3% and our laboratory results are available to provide transparency and assurance of our quality hemp extract. Each batch of hemp extract is tested by an independent third-party laboratory to further ensure: (1) the hemp extract has the highest concentration of CBD, terpenes, flavonoids, and alternative cannabinoids; (2) is entirely free of contaminants, and; (3) full compliance with federal and state regulations. View our certificates of analysis for more details about our potent hemp extract.

YES! The wax used in salves is an organic palm-based wax that is sustainably sourced. Palm-based ingredients are in a lot of products, but the impact of unsustainable production practices can be devastating to the rain forest ecosystem. The solution is not to boycott palm-based products completely. Boycotting it completely could cause issue some other place in the world or some other commodity's resources. The solution is to improve and support sustainable palm production practices because palm is incredibly high-yielding plant and many places rely on palm production for economic growth.
